Posted by Bangalore: Zoom expands Agentic AI capabilities in its latest upgrade announcement. Zoom Communications has announced a major upgrade to its AI offerings, expanding its Agentic AI capabilities, aimed at enhancing productivity and cross-platform collaboration.
Zoom expands Agentic AI capabilities
The company’s AI Companion now integrates with 16 third-party apps, including ServiceNow, Jira, Asana, Box, and others — enabling users to complete tasks and orchestrate workflows without leaving the Zoom platform.
Zoom also launched a Custom AI Companion add-on, now available for online purchase, extending capabilities beyond Zoom to other video conferencing tools such as Google Meet. This move makes Zoom’s AI-powered productivity tools more accessible to small businesses and remote teams using diverse platforms.
“With Zoom AI Companion’s agentic skills, users will see a significant productivity boost to help them get more done — not just in Zoom, but across business-essential apps like ServiceNow, Jira, Asana, Box, and more,” said Smita Hashim, CPO – Zoom.
“The Custom AI Companion add-on empowers users to streamline their workflows by having AI Companion join their Zoom Meetings and in-person meetings, and can now access AI Companion across other video conferencing platforms,” added Hashim.
Key Features and Integrations
Zoom’s upgraded AI Companion can now perform a range of tasks across multiple business functions:
Service and Sales Acceleration: When integrated with ServiceNow and Zendesk, the AI Companion can track opportunities, resolve tickets, and update customer records in real time — helping teams reduce manual tasks and improve customer experience.
Document Collaboration: Connected with tools like Google Drive, OneDrive, Box, Notion, and Confluence, the AI Companion can summarise, update, or generate documents from within meetings, enabling contextual collaboration.
Project Management: Integration with Asana and Jira allows users to update project status, assign tasks, and set deadlines through natural language prompts, without switching between applications.
Recruitment and Onboarding: Via Workday, the AI Companion assists with hiring workflows by summarizing candidate profiles, job listings, and interview outcomes.
Unified Communication: AI Companion helps reduce silos by summarizing and posting content across third-party messaging apps, ensuring teams stay aligned.
Expanded Core Capabilities
Zoom has also enhanced its core AI Companion features, which are included at no extra cost for users with paid Zoom licenses. These include, real-time Q&A during Zoom Phone calls, a voice recorder for in-person meetings and automated meeting agenda creation.
The enhancements further Zoom’s ambition to position itself as a central workplace productivity hub, blending video collaboration with AI-driven insights and task automation.
