Posted by Mumbai: F5, a global leader in delivering and securing applications and APIs, has introduced advanced AI-powered data leakage detection and prevention capabilities within its Application Delivery and Security Platform (ADSP). These enhancements aim to provide organisations with real-time protection of sensitive data, blocking unauthorised exposure and ensuring compliance.
The new features include expanded capabilities in the F5 AI Gateway, which now offers inline data classification, policy enforcement, and protection against emerging large language model (LLM) threats. Additionally, the F5 BIG-IP SSL Orchestrator will introduce advanced visibility into encrypted traffic, enabling defence against unauthorised AI use.
As businesses increasingly adopt AI and hybrid cloud technologies, sensitive data often moves across encrypted traffic and unapproved AI tools, creating security blind spots. Traditional security methods struggle to detect or prevent data leaks from these complex environments.
F5 has addressed this challenge with tools like AI-powered data leakage and detection in ADSP allows organisations to detect, classify, and stop data leaks in encrypted and AI-driven traffic in real time, prevent risks from unauthorised AI use and sensitive data exposure and apply consistent policies across applications, APIs, and AI services to maintain security and compliance.

The enhanced F5 AI Gateway, powered by technology recently acquired from LeakSignal, examines AI prompts and responses to identify sensitive data such as personal information and applies customer-defined policies to redact, block, or log it. This functionality simplifies compliance and reduces risk across hybrid and multicloud deployments.
Key new features include real-time detection of sensitive data during AI interactions., policy enforcement to protect and redact sensitive data as it enters AI environments and protect data before it leaves approved environments and detailed reports and audit logs integrated with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools.
To tackle the risks posed by unauthorised AI use, F5 is enhancing the BIG-IP SSL Orchestrator to offer AI data protection by delivering real-time visibility into encrypted traffic flows. This approach enables organisations to detect, classify, and block unauthorised AI use and sharing of sensitive data in transit, maintaining compliance while permitting authorised traffic.
These updates come at a critical time as enterprises increasingly adopt AI and hybrid cloud technologies, creating security blind spots.
