Kolkata: IT consultancy and services company Mindtree opened its first development centre in Kolkata on Thursday.
Mindtree’s new development centre spread over 56,000 sq feet of space is located in Sector V of Bidhannagar – part of the Greater Kolkata region. The new facility is compliant with LEED standards of environmentally sustainable operations and has been designed as an agile workplace.
The Larsen & Toubro Group company said that despite the pandemic, it has been recruiting talent in Kolkata for over a year. It has already employed over 1,000 professionals in the city.
Further, the company also said that it is aggressively expanding its team in Kolkata and expects to double its headcount in the city in the next financial year.
The Bangalore headquartered Mindtree informed that it is providing digital solutioning, consulting, cloud, core modernisation, product engineering and more along with cybersecurity services from Kolkata to its customers.
That includes some of the world’s largest retail, consumer goods, manufacturing, banking, financial services, insurance, travel, transportation, and hospitality companies in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
