Posted by Mumbai: Location data specialist HERE and Genesys International, an Indian geospatial company have announced a strategic partnership to transform in-car navigation and advance road safety in India. The two companies will co-develop a next-generation digital cockpit solution that combines real-time mapping, traffic alerts, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) aimed at reducing distracted driving.
India sees nearly 80,000 road fatalities annually, with over 3,000 linked to mobile phone use. The HERE–Genesys solution will deliver context-aware navigation, integrated safety features, and AI-driven updates for Indian drivers — all embedded within a software-defined vehicle (SDV) framework for automakers.
“There is a clear call from road users in India for more accessible and advanced vehicle safety technologies, including ADAS,” said Deon Newman, SVP and GM for Asia Pacific – HERE Technologies. “Our collaboration with Genesys International bridges global expertise and local innovation enabling automakers to integrate intelligent, ADAS-ready solutions that support safer, smarter, and more connected driving experiences in India.
According to a HERE survey, 98% of Indian drivers expressed concern about road safety, and 91% believe ADAS functions are crucial. The rise of connected cars and EV adoption in India further amplifies the demand for digital cockpit-ready, safety-integrated navigation systems.

As part of their long-term roadmap, HERE and Genesys plan to establish a mobility innovation center in India, where local teams will co-develop solutions tailored to India’s unique traffic, infrastructure, and safety challenges.
With over 3,000 employees in India, HERE is reinforcing its “Made in India, for India” strategy, while Genesys continues its leadership in high-definition mapping and geospatial data.
The strategic partnership aligns with growing OEM demand for integrated, intelligent navigation systems as Indian automakers look to meet global standards in connected mobility and vehicle safety.
