Mumbai: Global IT consulting and services company Accenture has expressed its solidarity with India by pledging $25 million relief support to combat the pandemic. “Accenture pledges $25 million for COVID-19 relief efforts in India,” a top company official in India announced in a blog post
IT industry giants Google, Microsoft, Samsung, Accenture and others have expressed their strong support and extended continuous efforts to help India fight against COVID-19.

“Accenture stands in solidarity with India. We have made a fresh pledge of $25 million (INR 185 crore) for pandemic relief efforts in addition to ongoing investments in our people and communities,” Chairperson and Senior MD of Accenture in India and Chairperson – NASSCOM Rekha M Menon wrote in a blog post.
As part of the relief efforts, Accenture is providing critical medical equipment and supplies including ventilators, oxygen concentrators and medical kits. “We are providing COVID-19 support kits and PPE kits to frontline healthcare workers and providing food and COVID-19 at-home care kits to unemployed and poor people,” informed Menon.
We are also engaging with the government to support vaccination camps and provide local language call-centre support. Additionally, we will be augmenting existing hospitals with beds and ICUs and setting up portable hospitals,” she added.
Besides the fresh funds of $25 million and critical medical equipment, Accenture has built resources to extend support to over 200,000 people and their families in India.
“We have built several resources including 24/7 telemedicine, care-at-home services, enhanced insurance coverage, virtual childcare, mental health support, and support for testing and vaccinations,” she explained.
“We have also created leave options for caregivers. Our teams continue to work around the clock to find additional ways to support our people,” she pointed out.
In addition, Accenture employees across the globe have expressed their support , involvement and are also donating funds. “Accenture will match 100% of our people’s contributions for COVID-19 relief efforts,” Menon said.
“Sharing gratitude for our ONE Accenture family – the 537,000 people standing with us every day. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of all who have lost their lives, and the many more who continue to battle the COVID-19 pandemic,” she concluded in her blog post.
