London, UK – Bangalore, India: Wipro said it will invest £16 million over the next four years to set up a 20,000 sq. ft. innovation centre in Holborn, London. It will serve as Wipro’s flagship centre in the United Kingdom and offer technology expertise to companies in the UK and globally.
The centre will be integral to providing advanced digital, cybersecurity and cloud expertise to enterprises. to both established and upcoming enterprises.
For the past 25 years, Wipro has been in the UK, employing over 4000 highly talented technology, digital consulting and business management professionals. The company has hired over 500 new employees in the UK in the past 12 months. With the setting up of the innovation centre, Wipro expects its talent base to increase further over the coming years.
Wipro recently acquired UK- based Capco for $1.45 billion, which has further strengthened its presence in the UK market. It will act as the next critical step in serving businesses with world-class consultancy on digital, business and IT transformation.,
This buyout will add 1300 employees in the UK and will make Wipro one of the largest end-to-end global consulting, technology and transformation service providers to the banking and financial services industry.
