Posted by Bengaluru: Sasken Technologies, a global leader in product engineering and digital transformation, has reinforced its ESG commitment through a series of impactful actions during Plastic Free July, a global movement focused on reducing plastic usage and raising environmental awareness.
At Sasken, sustainability is more than a one-month campaign. It is deeply embedded in the company’s operations, culture and infrastructure. With a plastic-free workplace and an electricity-neutral campus, Sasken continues to lead by example in environmental responsibility.
During July, the company’s ESG team, Prakriti, spearheaded several awareness initiatives across locations to encourage eco-friendly habits. In Domlur, Bengaluru, Sasken volunteers interacted with local residents, shopkeepers and school children to discourage the use of plastic carry bags. Cloth bags were distributed and conversations held to promote simple, lasting behavioural changes.
In Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh, the company marked Van Mahotsav with a tree plantation drive. Over 300 students and 100 parents received saplings, and took part in sessions on forest conservation and the dangers of plastic pollution.
“At Sasken, we believe sustainability is a shared responsibility and are committed to embedding it across all aspects of our operations and culture. Guided by ESG principles, we actively invest in long-term environmental stewardship, community development and circular practices,” said Sunil Dath, Head of IT, FMS and Sustainability – Sasken Technologies.
“Campaigns like Plastic Free July allow us to channel our values into action, raise awareness and collectively drive meaningful change,” added Dath.
Sasken’s ESG commitment is also evident in its infrastructure. Benches made from recycled Tetra Pak materials have prevented over 550 kilograms of plastic waste from entering landfills. The company recycles around 500 litres of water monthly and recharges 8,000 kilolitres of groundwater annually. Used clothing and paper waste are also donated for upcycling into practical items.
Through consistent action and a values-led approach, Sasken continues to embed its ESG commitment into everyday practice.
