New Delhi: High-performance low-code app development platform OutSystems has announced new AI features, including the general availability of its new connector for Azure OpenAI, co-built with Microsoft. It also unveiled the roadmap for a new suite of generative AI capabilities, codenamed “Project Morpheus.”
The OutSystems’ dedicated AI research centre has delivered new offerings including multiple patents and deep expertise in large language models and graph neural networks. The use of AI delivers overall improvements in code quality, overall development performance, and essential security and governance oversight.
“OutSystems is absolutely focused on developer productivity without tradeoffs. Our AI platform makes dev teams orders of magnitude more efficient. Unlike other vendors, who happily check the box on AI and speed, we know that’s just the surface,” said Paulo Rosado, Founder and CEO of OutSystems.
“Our deep investment in an AI-backed platform, with strict oversight and built-in governance, helps ensure every app meets the highest standards of enterprise readiness,” added Roasado.
The new OutSystems connector for ChatGPT now in general availability, makes it easy to build AI-backed applications with low code in a matter of minutes.
Examples include enhanced customer support, virtual assistants, travel and booking applications, language translations, and more.
With Project Morpheus, developers of any skill level can build apps with their unique requirements through rapid iteration and AI-backed assistance. Generative AI will create an initial version of an application in a matter of minutes, allowing developers to quickly customize the application with the AI engine giving real-time change suggestions that incorporate industry-standard best practices.
Key features of OutSystems’ generative AI roadmap include Instant app generation using conversational prompts without writing codes, an AI-backed app editor offering ongoing suggestions, visual representations of app changes in real-time and a full-stake and expansive ecosystem of connectors with Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and other third-party providers.
“The AI-powered guidance of OutSystems helps our new developers become fully productive much faster, and it allows junior developers to deploy applications like a senior developer,” said Igor Rigotti, Petrobras’ Head of the Low-Code Centre of Excellence (CoE).
“For us, as we’re scaling our low-code Center of Excellence and recruiting hundreds of new developers, that kind of productivity gain is critical,” added Rigotti.
