Bengaluru: Kyndryl, a global technology services provider, has announced a major $2.25 billion investment over the next three years in India. The move aims to strengthen the company’s presence in India and support its strategic initiatives in AI and IT infrastructure modernisation.

As part of the commitment, Kyndryl will focus on developing future-ready talent and establishing an AI Innovation Lab in Bengaluru. This initiative builds on Kyndryl’s existing presence in India and reflects its commitment to advancing AI-driven solutions in one of the world’s fastest-growing technology markets.

“We’re committed to further developing our people, expanding our technical capabilities, and strengthening community partnerships to support growth, innovation, and opportunity in India,” said Martin Schroeter, Chairman and CEO of Kyndryl.

The new AI Innovation Lab will play a central role in Kyndryl’s plan, focusing on the development and implementation of AI, cloud, and platform engineering solutions. The lab will also contribute to Kyndryl’s global efforts to help businesses adopt cutting-edge AI technologies and assist in building India’s digital public infrastructure.

In addition to the AI Lab, Kyndryl plans to invest in skilling programs for up to 200,000 citizens, further enhancing India’s rapidly growing digital workforce. The company is also establishing offices in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities to tap into high-potential regional talent and foster innovation.

Kyndryl’s efforts are aligned with India’s national goals of digital transformation and economic growth. The company has already forged partnerships with several leading Indian organisations across sectors such as banking, healthcare and infrastructure.

Bangalore International Airport, Canara Bank, Central Board of Direct Taxes, CreditAccess Grameen, Dr LalPathLabs, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, ESAF Small Finance Bank, Godrej Consumer Products and Honda Motorcycles are among many Indian organisations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed global investments like Kyndryl’s, stating that they would contribute to India’s progress and strengthen the country’s global technology leadership.

“This commitment is a testament to the vast opportunities in India and the incredible talent the country offers,” said Lingraju Sawkar, President of Kyndryl India.

Kyndryl’s focus on AI and talent development underscores the company’s long-term vision for expanding its footprint in India, while also supporting the country’s technological and economic aspirations.
