Mumbai: IBM launched its new India Client Experience Centre in Mumbai, aimed at helping Indian enterprises harness emerging technologies such as AI, hybrid cloud, and quantum computing. As part of this initiative, IBM has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with the Government of Maharashtra to explore collaborative opportunities in quantum computing.

The India Client Experience Centre will serve as a collaborative hub for IBM experts, clients, and partners to co-create solutions tailored to India’s unique business challenges. The facility will provide immersive experiences across IBM’s portfolio including the watsonx AI platform, cybersecurity, hybrid cloud, and automation.

“With AI, quantum computing, and semiconductors, we are building a Viksit Maharashtra and Viksit Bharat. Our collaboration with IBM will help harness these innovations for real-world impact while developing a skilled talent pool to make these technologies accessible to every citizen,” Maharashtra state Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, said, during the centre’s inauguration on Wednesday.

Under the letter of intent (LOI), IBM and the Government of Maharashtra will explore areas such as knowledge-sharing, technical workshops, and quantum skills development, aligning with India’s National Quantum Mission.

“The India Client Experience Centre reinforces our commitment to India’s innovation journey. Our interest in helping Maharashtra build its own vibrant quantum ecosystem exemplifies this dedication,” commented Hans Dekkers, GM – IBM Asia Pacific.

“We welcome the opportunity to support the Government of Maharashtra in advancing quantum computing skills as part of the broader Viksit Bharat vision,” added Sandip Patel, MD – IBM India and South Asia.

The new centre is located in IBM India’s Mumbai offices and marks a strategic step in IBM’s commitment to supporting India’s digital transformation through advanced technology and local collaboration.
