FinOpsly tackles cloud cost waste with its AI estimation tool Costix

San Francisco, USA: FinOpsly, a provider of AI-native cost control systems for enterprise infrastructure, has announced the launch of Costix, a new AI-powered tool designed to bring greater cost visibility and accuracy to early-stage planning for cloud, data, and AI initiatives.

The tool aims to solve a persistent problem in enterprise IT: the reliance on spreadsheets, manual calculations, and native cloud calculators that often fall short in multi-environment cost planning. With Costix, FinOpsly offers product, engineering, and pre-sales teams the ability to generate solution blueprints, detailed workload specifications, and a tailored bill of materials, all before any infrastructure is deployed.

“Cost control is no longer just a cloud problem. It is a systems problem across cloud, data, and AI,” said Kiran Jain, CEO and Co-Founder of FinOpsly. “We built Costix to give teams a fast, reliable way to plan infrastructure costs upfront, using data they can trust – all in less than five minutes.

“Every estimate should lead to a decision. Every dollar spent should be traceable, defensible, and actionable. With Costix, we are making that standard possible,” added Jain.

A Shift in Cost Planning Strategy
While traditional estimation methods often require detailed workload inputs that aren’t available during initial planning stages, Costix is built to operate earlier in the product lifecycle. By using agentic AI and pre-loaded configuration assumptions across compute, storage, and network, it enables faster and more accurate planning that reflects actual architecture patterns and cloud SKU data.

Product teams can describe what they intend to build and receive a solution design aligned to internal standards. The tool also offers AI-guided suggestions on configuration trade-offs, improving real-time decision-making.

“What sets Costix apart is its ability to turn business inputs into compliant solution designs — not just cost projections,” said Mueen Delvi, CTO and Co-Founder of FinOpsly. “It gives teams a launch-ready blueprint from day one.”

Enabling Stronger Business Cases and Internal Alignment
One of Costix’s key outputs is a contract-aware bill of materials that includes pricing, tagging, and business mappings tailored to each organisation. This allows teams to justify investments more effectively, work more efficiently with finance and procurement, and accelerate approvals.

A 2021 Flexera report found that over 30 percent of cloud spend is wasted due to poor planning and limited cost visibility. This makes the need for a robust, early-stage cost estimation tool has become more pressing. As enterprises expand their AI workloads, migrate data platforms, and scale multi-cloud operations, Costix is positioned to reduce risk and foster cross-team alignment.
