Mumbai: Lenovo is all set to announce a new partner program in January next year for the India market according to a top executive.
“Lenovo will announce a new partner program in India in January 2019. The new program will engage with partners in co-selling products and solutions and will offer rebates and rewards to drive growth,” Les Mansour, Director of Channels, Lenovo Data Center Group – Asia Pacific told to media during briefing at Transform 2.0 event in Mumbai recently.
“Although, the new program will be based on the Asia Pacific framework, it will be India specific as well addressing the specialized partners and their skills,” said Mansour.
According to Mansour, the company will be investing more in its channel partner program and will provide digital tools for marketing that will help to create demand generation campaigns and co-selling Lenovo products and solutions.
“Lenovo will be introducing the Lenovo Bid portal that helps in deal registrations and provide tools for partners,” added Mansour, a former HPE Channel business executive, who recently joined Lenovo.
The HKSE listed company has around 300 Gold and Platinum partners across the Asia Pacific region. In India, Lenovo has some 150 channel partners, which it aims to double in the next year.
This move comes after Lenovo successfully integrated the IBM’s server business which the Chinese company had acquired for $2.1 billion in 2014. In a bid to strengthen the enterprise business, Lenovo is strengthening its channel partner program globally including in India.
The channel driven company has recently forged an alliance with NetApp for flash storage products to offer customers with choice and fulfill their business needs. With this partnership, Lenovo will be in the position to address around 85-95 percent of the overall storage market.
