Unistal launch two solutions to mark 25th year

New Delhi: Unistal Systems Pvt. Ltd., a security software and data services provider for the Oil and Gas industry marked its 25th anniversary with the launch of two new solutions – Protegent Enterprise Security and SmartGasNet.

Protegent Enterprise Security Solution, a next level security solution enabling SMEs and large enterprises to protect their data and assets, while SmartGasNet is a complete solution developed for the oil and gas vertical and plays critical role in gas distribution networks.

Started in a small 30 sq. feet rooftop cabin with just two employees in 1994, Unistal has came a long way in the past 25 years. It has been successful in creating a niche and name in the data recovery space, which has resulted today into a company of over 200 staff.

Clinching Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) as the first client with its data recovery products in 1994, Unistal has successfully built a diverse data recovery portfolio with like Crash Proof, Quick Recovery, Data-Wipe and One Click Restore.

In fact, Crash Proof product has been instrumental in Unistal’s recognition in the industry as HCL, Wipro, Acer and others selected Unistal as OEM for its Crash Proof product and was even popularly called as ‘Data Doctors.’

With this, the company looked beyond India and initiated its overseas expansion move between 2000 and 2005. It opened 5 new branches including one in the Middle East and subsequently expanded its product range as well from 4 to 15 products.

It introduced the Quick Recovery software and other products for various platforms including Linux and Novell servers. Along with expanded product portfolio, Unistal’s licensed user base also grew over 5 lakh. This was the time when Unistal decided to enter in the oil & gas vertical.

Unistal backed its move with a formation of JPAC with Chirag Shah and strengthened its leadership team of Alok Gupta and Pankaj Mathur. It also further added new products for data security and oil & gas segment. It more than tripled products from 15 to 51 that included a new range of Port Locker, Laptop Locator, Activity Reporter, extension of Quick Recovery range, and others. This also saw Unistal expanding its workspace from 2500 to 20,000 sq feet area with a new development centre in Noida.

Unistal also expanded business with the launch of JPAC Technologies on 14 January 2008 to develop solutions for the Oil & Gas industry. Within a short span, JPAC Technologies made its mark in India and overseas as it started to work with most of the major Oil & Gas companies and bagged many prestigious projects in UAE, Oman, Malaysia, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh.

This success also paved the way for JPAC to start GIS & Survey services for city gas and cross country pipelines, besides it ventured into solutions for water pipelines. So far JPAC has successfully completed and managing more than 75 projects across India and overseas. It holds around 90% market share in India in the Pipeline Construction Management Services (PCMS) segment and has also mapped a network of over 26,000 km pipelines including more than 5000 km for City Gas Network & Assets and gained over 1000 months of PCMS execution experience. The company has recruited over 500 fresh mechanical engineers for Pipeline Construction Management.

On the other hand, Unistal continued its stronghold in the data security domain with 51 products and over 7 million licensed users and 3000 active resellers across India, Middle East and Africa. The company has a tie-up as an OEM with HP & Acer, a retail tie-up with Dell & Dell Exclusive stores along with distribution tie-up with Supertron. Unistal has also catered to more than 200 thousand data recovery cases including for RAID servers.
