Eaton acquires charging technology firm Green Motion SA

Dublin, UK: Power management company Eaton said it has acquired Green Motion SA. Switzerland based Green Motion SA is a leading designer and manufacturer of electric vehicle charging hardware and related software.

With this acquisition, Eaton will further expand its electric vehicle charging capabilities. However, the NYSE listed company has not disclosed the financial details of its Green Motion deal.

Eaton has an entire product portfolio of eMobility and vehicle electrical components. It launched eMobility business in 2018.

“Energy transition around the world is rapidly gathering momentum. And Eaton is well-positioned to contribute to society and benefit from this important trend,” said Uday Yadav, President and COO – Electrical Sector, Eaton.

“Electric vehicle charging infrastructure is among the areas where we expect to see significant growth over the next decade. Green Motion’s proven charger designs and its advanced power and billing management software are powerful additions to Eaton’s existing energy storage and power distribution offerings,” added Yadav.

Eaton’s mission is to improve the quality of life and the environment through the use of power management technologies and services. The company provides sustainable solutions to effectively manage electrical, hydraulic and mechanical power – more safely, efficiently and reliably.

In 2020, Eaton reported $17.9 billion in revenues. The company sell products to customers in more than 175 countries and has a workforce of around 92,000 employees.
