COGOS Technologies to hire 500 women for its EV fleet

Mumbai: COGOS Technologies, a logistics startup will employ and train 500 women drivers in its EV fleet by December 2021. The startup announced today to mark International Women’s Day and expressed its commitment towards the women in the workforce.

COGOS Technologies will provide training, support in order to build entrepreneurial skill sets in women drivers under its full-stack platform. The startup has already successfully trained and hired 50 women under this initiative.

The women’s role in the entire supply chain ecosystem is deemed as small with only being a part of desk jobs.

COGOS, will impart both functional skills (such as driving, vehicle maintenance) and soft skills training (such as communication while delivering, customer orientation) to female employees.

“We understand the immense potential of women in the workspace and hence have taken it to ourselves to aid in their process of achieving their full potential,” said Prasad Sreeram, Founder and CEO – COGOS Technologies.

“The growth of women in the sector can only be triggered by valuing diversity and promoting its scope. Which shall, in turn, add innovation and new perceptions to the business,” added Sreeram.

The logistics startup has a presence across 21 states with a network in 300 plus cities. It has plans to focus on 100 smart cities and 400 plus cities across the country by 2021. It aims to target onboarding 100,000 truckers including women and revenue growth of 3x Y-o-Y by the end of 2021.
