Santa Carla, USA: Palo Alto Networks has introduced Prisma SASE 4.0, its latest AI-driven secure access service edge (SASE) solution. The purpose of Prisma SASE 4.0 is stopping sophisticated threats that form inside the browser. The launch includes Prisma Browser, which provides real-time protection against encrypted and evasive attacks that can bypass traditional web gateways.
Enterprises today access more critical data and AI-powered applications through the browser, making it the new operating system for enterprises. Prisma Browser offers in-browser protection that identifies and blocks malware before it causes harm.
However, as more critical applications and data reside within the browser, traditional consumer-grade browsers are no longer sufficient for businesses. They lack the necessary security controls to protect against the increasing number of cyberattacks.
With Prisma SASE 4.0, Prisma Browser’s new in-browser advanced web protection identifies and neutralises malware in real-time before it can do harm. This provides a critical layer of defense that other solutions miss.
The new release also strengthens data security with AI-powered classification that automatically identifies sensitive information, including unstructured content and data in use. According to the company, the platform reduces false positives by 10 times compared to traditional methods and includes over 140 pre-trained machine learning classifiers.
In addition, the update introduces Private App Security, designed to protect dynamic private applications by replacing outdated, static rule-based firewalls with adaptive protection that updates automatically as threats evolve.
“The innovations in Prisma SASE 4.0, particularly our last-mile protections in the browser, are a direct response to the digital landscape, where AI-driven attacks and the widespread adoption of AI tools are making traditional security approaches obsolete,” said Anand Oswal, EVP – Network Security, Palo Alto Networks.
“By neutralising sophisticated threats that evade legacy solutions and directly target the browser, we are setting a new standard for security,” added Oswal.
The company reports that its SASE annual recurring revenue reached $1.3 billion in fiscal year 2025, a 35% year-on-year increase. It now serves over 6,300 customers, including one-third of the Fortune 500.
