Posted by Mumbai: Cybersecurity provider eScan has unveiled a new Workspace Tenant Control feature aimed at preventing accidental corporate data leaks in hybrid work environments. The Comprehensive Workspace Tenant Control feature now part of the eScan Enterprise DLP platform, ensures employees access cloud platforms only through corporate credentials, minimising the risk of sensitive data being uploaded to personal accounts.
The solution addresses a growing security concern. With India reporting a 783% rise in data theft, organisations are facing threats not just from malicious actors, but also from common human errors. For example, an employee might mistakenly upload a presentation to a personal Dropbox instead of the company account.
“Today, the challenge isn’t just about malicious attacks—it’s about innocent mistakes that can lead to serious consequences,” said Govind Rammurthy, CEO of eScan. “Traditional DLP solutions might block access entirely—but that’s like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut. What organisations need today is a smarter solution that balances security with usability.”
Unlike traditional data loss prevention tools that may block entire apps, eScan’s system allows continued use of platforms like Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Dropbox, Zoom, and more, but only via verified corporate logins. If a personal login is detected, the system redirects the user to authenticate through their workplace account.
“We’re not disrupting how people work; we’re just ensuring they work with the right credentials. It’s like having training wheels for authentication security,” explained Shweta Thakare, VP Global Sales and Marketing – eScan.
The feature arrives at a time of rising regulatory pressure in India and follows major breaches, including those involving Aadhaar, Air India, and Domino’s. A recent deployment with a Mumbai-based manufacturer blocked over 200 personal account login attempts in one month without disrupting productivity.
The Workspace Tenant Control feature is available now with minimal setup requirements and enterprise-focused pricing, offering a seamless way to secure data flow without slowing down daily operations.
