Bangalore, India – Fortaleza, Brazil: Wipro to acquire Brazilian IT services provider IVIA Serviços de Informática Ltda. Wipro has signed a pact with IVIA, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
Founded in 1996, the Brazilian IT servicer provider IVIA offers IT solutions including system development, maintenance, consulting and project management services to clients in different sectors such as Financial Services, Transportation, Retail, Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Manufacturing in Brazil.
Headquartered in Brazil’s Northeast, IVIA has offices in Fortaleza-Ceará, Recife-Pernambuco and Natal-Rio Grande do Norte.
Under the signed pact, Wipro will leverage IVIA’s local talent combined with its global expertise to expand geographically in the Brazilian market. Wipro will acquire IVIA as it is aiming to set up delivery centres in the North East of Brazil leveraging IVIA’s workforce.
Wipro has a significant presence in Latin America with offices across five countries in the region – Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Costa Rica.
In Brazil, Wipro has plans to expand and grow its operations by leveraging local partners along with its global experience to server the local market. This acquisition is another significant step towards Wipro’s commitment to this region.

The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions and is likely to be completed in the quarter ending September 30. However, Wipro hasn’t revealed the financial details of this deal.
