Chennai: The Sify Technologies-led on-premise data centre for the Supreme Court of India went live early last month. Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud inaugurated this on-premise data centre built for the Supreme Court on November 7, 2024, according to a press release.

India’s leading digital ICT solutions provider Sifty Technologies has built this data centre for the Supreme Court of India. The smart rack row, concurrently maintainable on-premise data centre is the latest in a long list of digitalisation measures that the Supreme Court has adopted to overcome the dependency on legacy work measures.

This new data centre along with a server farm has been built at the Supreme Court’s Administrative Buildings Complex. However, no details on the cost, configuration of the data centre and its construction along with other technical aspects were not shave been disclosed in the press lease.

Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud along with Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Justice Pamidighantam Sri Narasimha, Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah and Justice K.V. Viswanathan remained present during the inauguration ceremony last month. A vocal supporter of the country’s digital ambitions, this on-premise data centre was a fitting swansong for the Chief Justice who retired on November 10, 2024.

“This is an endorsement of our DNA in building comprehensive ICT ecosystems for more than two decades. I am elated that what started as enabling digital transformation for different enterprises is now being adopted by the highest echelons of the judiciary,” said Raju Vegesna, Chairman of Sify Technologies Limited.

“Sify is proud of this positive contribution to the digitalisation measures of the Supreme Court, and by extension, the country,” added Vegesna.
