Mumbai: The Indian unit of Mitsubishi Electric will set up a new Factory Automation Systems manufacturing factory in Maharashtra. For this, Mitsubishi Electric India has initiated the ground-breaking ceremony of the new factory in Talegaon near Pune.
The company is a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, headquartered in Tokyo, Japan and a world leader in electric and electronic equipment.
Mitsubishi Electric Corporation had recently announced an approximate greenfield investment of Rs 220 crores. The new factory will manufacture variable frequency drives and Factory Automation (FA) control system products.
Kazuhiko Tamura, MD of Mitsubishi Electric India presided over the ground-breaking ceremony along with Tomohiro Yoshida, Director and Factory Automation Division Head.
Mitsubishi Electric India’s Factory Automation & Industrial Division has a strong presence in sectors like automotive, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and textiles, and has been increasingly catering to upcoming and diverse sectors like data centres, e-commerce, sugar, and steel, to name a few.
The company has a strong local R&D base and has been developing indigenous products that cater to the local requirements of the customers.
“The upcoming factory is a testament to the strong commitment that Mitsubishi Electric India has towards its customers. For almost three decades now, we have been serving the India market. Since then, we have rapidly expanded our India operations,” said Kazuhiko Tamura MD of Mitsubishi Electric India.
“The new factory will meet the growing customer demand and will help create further value for them. We will continue to strongly support India’s manufacturing sector by offering cutting-edge factory automation technologies and solutions,” added Tamara.
