Bengaluru: With the aim to drive agentic AI adoption among enterprises, Cognizant and Google Cloud have established a new Gemini Frontier Capability Group. The new group led by 18,000 plus engineers will play key role in enabling enterprises move from pilot to production, with safe deployment of enterprise-grade agents.

The group brings together Google’s full-stack, enterprise-ready AI platform and Cognizant’s domain, industry and engineering expertise in AI. Over 18,000 dedicated Cognizant associates, are core to this new group, backed by a substantial joint investment from both the companies.

In fact, Cognizant has built a dedicated Gemini practice, which it launched in April 2026. As a Google Cloud’s Diamond partner, over 55,000 Cognizant associates have completed the Build with Gemini workshop, making it as the largest Gemini partner workshop held to date. Further, Cognizant’s Frontier Certified Engineers, a specialised AI and software engineering roles to minimum gaps of enterprise AI and real business outcomes. These efforts and initiatives clearly indicate how Cogizant is pivoting from IT services to AI adoption.

Interestingly, the Gemini Frontier Capability Group leverages Google Cloud’s AI platform Gemini to deliver production-grade, AI solutions built to drive business outcomes for global enterprises. Initially, its focus is on engineering capabilities across legacy modernisation, developer experience, autonomous business process agentification and frontier cyber defence.

To enable these capabilities, the group plans to deploy standardised, security-first agentic architecture built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP) with Google Cloud’s Model Armor. And further, will leverage collaborative, production-ready enterprise solutions, including Cognizant’s Catalog Support Agent (CSA) for retail, the NeuroÒ San-orchestrated Healthcare Agentic Marketplace, and multi-agent Order-to-Cash (O2C) workflows for manufacturing.

“Establishing our dedicated Gemini Frontier Capability Group lets our best frontier engineering talent focus entirely on getting frontier AI into production for clients,” said Ravi Kumar S, CEO of Cognizant.

“Our Build with Gemini workshop gave over 55,000 associates that experience directly, earning them tangible skills on one of the world’s most advanced AI platforms, and this new group is where that experience goes to work every day,” added Ravi.

“Deploying AI agents at scale requires trusted partners with deep architectural and integration expertise,” said Thomas Kurian, CEO Google Cloud.

“Cognizant’s dedicated Frontier Capability Group and their skilling initiative for tens of thousands of engineers on Gemini will help our joint customers accelerate the adoption of autonomous agents throughout the enterprise,” added Kurian.
