Posted by San Francisco, USA: Cloudflare, a leading connectivity cloud company, has announced its plans to hire 1,111 interns in 2026. The company will also make available developer tools to students studying at United States universities at no cost for one year.
These interns will receive in-person, hands-on mentorship and the ability to interact with senior leadership across Cloudflare’s hubs, including Bengaluru, Austin, New York, Lisbon and London.
By offering students valuable hands-on experience, the company aims to empower the next generation of technology leaders and innovators with the skills and knowledge needed to create the applications of the future.
Cloudflare is also giving US students with .edu email addresses free year-long access to their serverless developer platform, Workers, to experiment and code with production-ready tools with no upfront cost.
This ambitious program comes at a time when other companies are choosing AI automation over an entry-level hire: a recent Stanford study found employment for 22-25 year olds in AI-exposed roles like coding has dropped up to 13%.
While Handshake reports tech internships are down over 30% since 2023. By offering students valuable hands-on experience, Cloudflare is investing in and empowering the next generation of technology leaders and innovators.
“We have always believed times of great transition can also be moments of great opportunity—we founded Cloudflare during a financial crisis and doubled our intern numbers during the pandemic when other companies were cutting back,” said Matthew Prince, co-founder and CEO of Cloudflare.
“Now, when getting a job out of school has never been harder, we’re leaning in and offering a training ground for the next generation. And while many companies see AI as a way to replace jobs, we see this next generation as a way to bring the best uses of AI into Cloudflare. There’s a lot we can learn from interns who grew up building with AI as a first class tool,” added Prince.
