Guwahati: The northeastern state of Assam gets the first Rate-4 data centre from CtlS. As part of the investment in Assam, CtrlS is setting up a Rated-4 data centre in Guwahati’s Tech City Park.
The new data centre will be spread over three acres of land with an initial hosting capacity of more than 1,000 racks. The rack capacity will be enhanced to 2,000 plus racks in the next 12-18 months.
IT Minister of Assam, Keshab Mahanta laid the foundation stone of this new Rated-4 data centre on Tuesday.
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, Ramendra Narayan Kalita, Chairman of Amtron, Sridhar Pinnapureddy, Founder and CEO of CtrlS Datacenters and Anurag Goyal, IAS, Principal Secretary of Assam remained present during the ceremony.
As part of the expansion plans across metros and secondary metros, CtrlS has been deploying edge data centres in tier-2, tier-3 and tier-4 cities across the country.
The company said that its expansion in Assam is aligned with the “Digital Assam” initiative of the Assam Government to digitally transform the state.
This will help to empower the society, and economy and increase digital literacy in rural areas through internet connectivity and penetration into households. And make government services and information easily accessible to the citizens, driving efficiency and transparency in governance leveraging IT.
The upcoming Rated-4 data centre from CtrlS in Guwahati will provide a range of services including colocation services for cloud, e-commerce, digital payment, digital classroom, OTT, CDN, ISPs, and smart cities and more.
It will not only support the state but enterprises and SMEs across the northeast region will get benefited from the data centre and related technology services. That includes colocation, private/hybrid cloud, managed services, work area recovery, business continuity, disaster recovery, SD-WAN, connectivity services and speedy connectivity as well.

We are happy that CtrlS too shares our vision and is working closely with us to reach our desired goals,” added CM Sarma.
“I am delighted that CtrlS, Asia’s Largest Rated-4 Hyperscale Data Center is setting up its data centre facility in Guwahati aimed at helping process data closer to the end-user, powered by lower latency and high speed,” added State IT Minister, Keshab Mahanta during the ceremony.
