Vishak Raman to head Fortinet’s Business in India, SEA

Bangalore: Fortinet has rejigged its core sales team in India with the appointment of Vishak Raman in a new role as the VP for Sales in India, SAARC and Southeast Asia.

Rajesh Maurya, Regional VP for India and SAARC is being moved into a new role and the company will make an announcement in the coming weeks. Raman has rejoined Fortinet after spending some years in Cisco.

“We are pleased to welcome back Vishak Raman to head Fortinet business in India, SAARC and Southeast Asia region. He brings along tremendous experience and cybersecurity market insights to add to our leadership team,” said Joe Sarno, SVP – International Sales, Emerging and APJ, Fortinet.

“Raman will be a key contributor as we continue to consolidate our leadership position and drive future growth in key areas such as the convergence of security and networking, continued expansion of the Security Fabric mesh platform and adoption of our Secure SD-WAN, SD-Branch, Adaptive Cloud, and OT,” added Sarno.

Vishak Raman has over two decades of experience in the cybersecurity space with proven expertise in product management, sales, marketing and business development.

Earlier Raman was heading the position of Senior Regional Director, India and SAARC and was instrumental in establishing and growing Fortinet’s technology leadership and success story in India.

He has been credited for setting up a first-of-its-kind Technical Assistance Centre in Bangalore which has over 200 engineers that provide 24/7 support to Fortinet’s customers in India and the Middle East.

Prior to Fortinet, he worked as Cisco’s Director of Security Business, India and SAARC Raman

holds an Engineering degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from IIM Ahmedabad. He also worked in various roles at FireEye, Tata Communications, WatchGuard, Sify and HCl Technologies.
