Mumbai: Teradata has made its multi-cloud analytics platform Vantage available to customers on a 30-day free trial. This is one of the most tried and tested move that most software companies follow as part of their go-to-market strategy.

With free Vantage Trial, customers can get a taste of the paid subscriptions to Vantage in the cloud, Teradata said on Wednesday.

Teradata Vantage is a modern multi-cloud data analytics software platform that unifies data warehouses, data lakes, and analytics. It enables enterprise-scale companies to eliminate silos and cost-effectively query all their data, all the time, to get a complete view of their business.

Vantage claimed to be the only data warehouse and analytics platform to provide consistent features and software across on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments. It is available across the top three public cloud vendors – Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft Azure.

The AT&T owned company had launched its Vantage platform in October 2018. Later in 2019, the platform was available as-a-Service offerings. In January this year, Teradata released Vantage’s new version 17.00.

Its bit hard to understand why an analytics software company offers a 30-day free trail and that too, for its platform launched more than two years ago?

“As a cloud-first data analytics platform company. It is imperative that we show how Teradata Vantage can help all users get the most value from their data – and Vantage Trial is tailored to do just that,” said Hillary Aston, Chief Product Officer – Teradata.

The free tail, according to Aston will provider understanding and experience of the Vantage’s capabilities and functions. “Business analysts will see how Vantage simplifies the extraction of insights and the operationalisation of workflows. Data scientists and developers will experience time savings and the power of built-in analytic functions,” added Ashton.

“IT operations will witness the speed at which Vantage connects to and queries object storage data lakes such as Amazon S3, Azure Blob, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) Gen2, and Google Cloud Storage. It’s all part of the easy-to-use, free, web-based Vantage Trial environment available now,” explained Ashton.

Vantage Trial comes preloaded with ready-to-use examples, complete with step-by-step instructions, for three key user profiles: business analysts, data scientists/developers, and IT operations.

In addition to taking advantage of the preloaded data, users can also upload their own data to see how Vantage’s advanced analytics functions enable faster evaluation and reduced time-to-value.

There’s no limit to the submitted number or complexity of queries during the trial. The free trial doesn’t need any download software, security permissions, or provide credit card information.

Vodafone, NXP Semiconductors, McDonald’s, Groupon are among the many customers of Teradata Vantage. IBMDb2, Microsoft SQL, Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, SAP HANA are some of the competitors of the Vantage platform.

The Enterprise Data Management market size is expected to reach $133.4 billion by 2026. It is rising at a market growth of 10.2% CAGR between 2020 – 2026, according to industry estimates.
