Bangalore: Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has updated its HPE GreenLake cloud services portfolio.

It introduced HPE GreenLake cloud services portfolio for virtual machines (VMs), containers and bare metal management with scalable, modular entry points. These are customised for mid-market businesses having 100 VMs to 600 VMs.

For bare metal, the customers can discover, provision, manage compute and storage resources in HPE GreenLake Central. So they can run workloads directly on the server or use VMs or containers in the mix that fits their business.

This enables customers with better control, agility and a non-expansive approach to building platforms that meet their performance, cost and configuration needs.

For virtual machines (VMs), the customers can choose from various deployments, as well as compute and storage instance types sized for 100 VMs.

These are offered in standardised blocks with 4, 8, 12, and 16 compute nodes. The company said it has introduced the new VMs cloud service as the option to add backup as a service.

For containers, HPE offers solutions based on small, medium, large and extra-large capacity sizes for the HPE Ezmeral Container platform.

With these new updates, HPE is banking on its hybrid cloud approach to push its cloud services in the markets. It is offering a mix of cloud’s agility and simplicity along with governance and control of an on-prem environment. This approach helped HPE GreenLake Cloud Services business grow to the tune of $4.5 billion in total contract value.

In Q1 2021 HPE grew its Annualized Revenue Run Rate (ARR) by 27% year-over-year. HPE’s partner ecosystem has been the force behind the growth and success of the Greenlake cloud services business.

In this growth, HPE’s partner ecosystem has been playing a significant role in closing cloud services contracts. Partner-led orders for HPE GreenLake growing 116% in Q1 2021.

Channel partners, colocation, distributors, independent software vendors, service providers and systems integrators are part of HPE’s partner ecosystem. They have adopted HPE GreenLake as a platform of choice for delivering digital transformation for their clients, according to HPE.

“HPE continues to bring HPE GreenLake and the cloud experience to a broader set of customers for their digital transformation and modernization efforts – at the edge, colocation facility, or datacenter,” said Keith White, SVP and GM – HPE GreenLake Cloud Services.

“The HPE partner ecosystem plays a central role in our success. Partners of all types are embedding HPE GreenLake into their business models and offerings to deliver an agile as-a-service experience to their clients,” added White.

“Together, we are disrupting the market by “bringing the cloud to you” for our clients. Combining the simplicity and agility of the cloud with the flexibility and control of a hybrid environment,” concluded White.
