Accenture to acquire Imaginea to strengthen its Cloud First

Bangalore: Accenture has agreed to acquire Imaginea, a cloud-native product and platform engineering firm. The move is to strengthen the company’s cloud capabilities and offerings via the Cloud First initiative launched last year. The company has not disclosed the financial details of this transaction.

Imaginea is based in Mountain View, US. It has offices in London and throughout India and helps companies drive innovation through cloud-native technology products and engineering services.
 
It currently advises over 200 global clients to deliver cloud-first transformations. The acquisition adds approximately 1,350 cloud professionals to Accenture.

Accenture will leverage Imaginea’s highly-skilled, cloud-native, full-stack engineering team. It has cloud data and cloud modernization skills across multiple platforms from Amazon Web Services, Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
 
“Imaginea will further enhance Accenture Cloud First’s global capabilities. It was created to help clients across every industry become ‘cloud-first’ businesses,” said Karthik Narain, Global Lead – Accenture Cloud First.

The company launched Accenture Cloud First in last September with a $3billion investment over the next three years. A strong 70,000 cloud professionals lead Accenture Cloud First group with together extensive cloud expertise in cloud solutions and assets. These capabilities help clients gain value from the cloud investment at speed and scale.
 
Completion of the acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions.
