Veeam crosses $1 billion annual bookings milestone with over 350,000 customers

Miami, US: Veeam Software, a backup solutions player with cloud data management capabilities said that it has exceeded $1 billion in annual bookings and also surpassed 350,000 customers, adding new customers at a remarkable rate of over 4,000 each month.

“Veeam created the VMware backup market and has dominated it as the leader for the last decade. This was Veeam’s Act I and I am delighted that we have surpassed the $1 billion mark; in 2013, I predicted we’d achieve this in less than six years and we have,” said Ratmir Timashev, Co-Founder and EVP Sales & Marketing – Veeam.

Veeam, although has achieved a major success, according to Timashev, the company is well aware of changing technology landscape and market dynamics, where in backup is still critical.

“ But customers are now building hybrid clouds with AWS, Azure, IBM and Google, and they need more than just backup. To succeed in this changing environment, Veeam has had to adapt,” commented Timashev during the on-going flagship event VeeamON.

Interestingly, Veeam is all geared to meet the changing technology landscape and market dynamics with its strong 60,000 plus partner base that includes channel and service provider partners as well as technology vendors.

“Among them Cisco, HPE, NetApp, Nutanix and Pure Storage are best positioned to dominate the new Cloud Data Management in our Act II. Our vision and strategy for the hybrid cloud will see us deliver the kind of success others can only dream of,” informed Timashev.

For more than a decade, Veeam has been among the leading providers of backup, recovery and replication solutions. Over the years, Veeam has expanded its focus to serve wide range of environments like Vmware’s server virtualization to cloud based multiple offerings and applications as well as vendor specific software to suit the customers’ requirements.

In doing so, Veeam’s partner-centric strategy and ability to adapt to the market has played a crucial role in achieving the success and is the foundation for Act II. And the company continues to bank on its partner ecosystem in achieving success as well as delivering value to customers.
