UST launches a new frictionless shopping solution

Bangalore: UST, a digital transformation player has launched the UST Walk-In, Walk-Out frictionless shopping solution.

This new contactless solution redefines customers’ relationships with retail by eliminating long checkout lines and waiting times. This helps customers get a seamless shopping experience, allowing them to walk into a store, grab their items and move out.

Unified technology integration of artificial intelligence (AI), sensors and cameras have helped to build this solution. All these working together enables the core features.

Customers can enter the store using the mobile app to scan a QR code. Then select their desired items from the shelves and exit the store. On exit, they receive their digital receipt in a matter of seconds. The company can implement the solution and make it functional in eight weeks.

Retail Business Services – the services arm of Ahold Delhaize USA and a European grocery retailer have piloted UST’s new shopping solution.

The company is implementing this end-to-end frictionless shopping solution for customers across retail segments in the US, Asia and Europe. Grocery retailers, convenience stores, cafeterias and grab-and-go food stores at airports and universities among the retail segments.

The new solution allows retailers to integrate with other retail technology solutions such as UST Healthy Store, UST Chatbot, and UST RapidCEL, among others.

In this new normal, customers are concerned about their personal risk and those of their communities, according to Krishan Prasad, Chief Customer Officer and Head – Retail, UST.
