San Francisco, USA: Riverbed has elevated COO Dan Smoot to the President and CEO position to drive the company’s next phase of growth. With this appointment, Smoot will replace and take from Riverbed CEO Rich McBee.
Smoot has over three decades of experience working in the tech industry. During this long span, he worked in senior roles at top tech companies including Salesforce, Cisco and VMware before he joined Riverbed in 2018.
Since then, Smoot has held several executive leadership roles in Riverbed. Most recently, he was the COO and led the company’s Worldwide Sales, Channels and Alliances, Sales Operations and Customer Experience, teams.
“Dan has been a stand-out leader at Riverbed and brings tremendous industry experience having held senior leadership roles at some of the world’s leading technology companies,” said Robert ‘Tre’ Sayle, Riverbed Board Member and Thoma Bravo Partner (Riverbed is a portfolio company of Thoma Bravo).
