Posted by New Delhi: Hughes Communications India said that it will connect 1,800 branches of Bank of India and affiliated regional rural banks via satellite network connectivity.
Bank of India (BOI) has selected Hughes Communication to provide satellite network connectivity to 1,800 bank branches across the country. The project brings satellite connectivity to Aryavart Bank, Madhya Pradesh Gramin Bank (MPGB), Vidharbha Konkan Gramin Bank (VKGB), and BoI branches that serve rural customers

As part of this project, the network will run on Hughes JUPITER System. That also includes routers, gateways and network management for high performance and efficiency, using capacity on the GSAT11 and NSS12 satellites. The JUPITER System is the most widely deployed ground network platform in the world.
This project further adds to HCIPL’s wide portfolio of banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) customers. It serves more than 30 nationalised and private banks and connecting over 30,000 branches and 40,000 ATMs.
