Hong Kong: Decentralised domain registry EDNS ( Ether Domain Name Services) said its decentralised domain naming platform built on the Polygon blockchain will go live on April 12.
The platform aims to change existing internet domain technology with on-chain decentralised domain technology as the internet moves to the new user experience based on Web3.0
To encourage global participation in the move towards Web3.0, EDNS said it is giving 700,000 .meta domains to the owners of .eth domains, with first-year service fees waived. And it also launching an ambassador program and a Reseller NFT Membership Program.

Today’s announcement came as investors have been snapping up decentralised domains built on the Ethereum-blockchain name service addresses, a trend reminiscent of the acquisition of .com names during the Web1.0 era.
EDNS simplifies the crypto and decentralised finance space by allowing users to create simple nicknames for all their public addresses and decentralised websites.

Unlike the existing decentralised domain platforms, the company said it will provide a direct connection to decentralised storage, web hosting and builder.
And it will offer decentralised SMS messaging and verification services – features to significantly enhance web security and privacy protection.
Through EDNS domains, users can manage smart contracts and realize their vision of an authentic decentralised future free from the control of IP administrators.
