Haier India to invest Rs 3,069 crore in UP government’s second industrial park

New Delhi: Haier, a global home appliances & consumer electronics brand has expressed its commitment to invest in UP government’s project and create new opportunities.

Haier will invest Rs.3,069 crore in UP government’s project to set up its second industrial park in Greater Noida.

This is company’s second major investment in India. Prior to this, the company set up its first manufacturing plant at Ranjangaon, Pune.

It announced this during an UP government organized function on Sunday attended by Home Minister Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, UP’s Minister for Industrial Development Satish Mahana along with leading industrialists of the country.

During the function, Union Home Minister, Amit Shah laid the foundation stone of over 250 projects worth Rs 65,000 crore for which MoUs were signed during the UP Investors Summit last year.

The up coming plant in UP is a part of Haier India’s strategy to meet the rising demand of consumers and generate job opportunities in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

“We congratulate the government of Uttar Pradesh for holding the second ground-breaking ceremony and appreciate its vision to make UP a $1 trillion economy in the coming years,” said Eric Braganza, President – Haier Appliances India Pvt Ltd.

“Haier India is pleased to be a part of Uttar Pradesh’s journey towards becoming a global manufacturing hub thereby generating employment in the state. We are committed towards the government’s initiatives and delivering best in-class innovations to our customers,” added Braganza.

He also presented his views on the growing potential of Internet of Things (IoT) in the Indian market and Haier’s commitment towards Research and Development (R&D) for paving the way for the future of home appliances in India.

He further focused on the impact of new age technologies which are shaping the reality for smart homes and the government’s proposed vision of 100 smart cities out of which 11 major smart cities are from UP.
