Posted by Mumbai: Cybersecurity firm DNIF has appointed Orin Corporation as its value-added distributor (VAD) for Sri Lanka and Maldives markets. With this partnership, DNIF is expanding its reach to the island nations in the Indian Ocean.
Orin Corporation, a fully owned subsidiary of South Asian Technologies Group is a speciality cybersecurity distributor based in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The partnership aligns with an increasing focus on digital transformation and cybersecurity in Sri Lanka. In fact, the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (SLCERT) has mandated to protect Sri Lanka’s Information Systems Infrastructure as financial frauds targeting local businesses have seen a massive upturn during the year 2020.
There has been a significant increase in the spread of ransomware and malicious software. A significant number of websites targeting the government and private sector were compromised in Sri Lanka.
SLCERT witnessed a 460% massive surge in incidents reported to a total of 16,367 in 2020 compared to the previous year.
Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) account for 80% of the Sri Lankan economy, according to the Secretariat of Senior Ministers, Sri Lankan Government.
Given the Sri Lankan market, leveraging DNIF HyperScale SIEM with Cognitive intelligence and technologies like AI and ML would help organisations in dealing with the threat landscape and minimize the SOC costs.
