Arvind Kumar is STPI’s new Director-General

New Delhi – Bangalore: Arvind Kumar has joined Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) as the new Director- General (DG). STPI is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.

STPI is fuelling the culture of tech entrepreneurship and innovation in the country by launching 25+ Centres of Entrepreneurship in emerging technology domains. Arvind Kumar as DG is expected to play a significant leadership in taking STPI to new heights and growth.

As an autonomous body, STPI has been activating multiple initiatives for promoting entrepreneurship and creating a robust start-up ecosystem in the country.

“STPI, in my opinion, should serve as a one-stop-shop for technology startups. I believe that startups can primarily contribute to the accomplishment of Governments / MeitY’s vision of one trillion-dollar digital economy,” said Arvind Kumar, DG – STPI.

Before joining STPI, Arvind Kumar was working in the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) in 2004.

As an advisor in TRAI, he was responsible for broadband, data security and privacy issues, manufacturing, DTH, IPTV, TV broadcasting, and OTT, after having worked since 1997 in the Indian Government-run premier technology centre, C-DoT.

He holds an MTech degree from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Varanasi.

STPI has been activating multiple initiatives for promoting entrepreneurship and creating a robust start-up ecosystem in the country.

Its envision to build the next wave of budding entrepreneurs with 21+ CoEs in emerging technologies are being set up in collaboration across the country. STPI shall act as single-window facilitation centres to extend requisite lab support, funding and mentoring.
